Rovin D’Souza defends his title


Last year’s champion Rovin D’Souza, has become the first player to manage to defend the title by winning the final against Mahaesh Jagdale in the SPG-Park Club Billiards Tournament – 2015, which is being jointly organised by the Shivaji Park Gymkhana and Park Club.

In the race to 375 points final game, Rovin (handicap -140) played with good steady control to defeat Mahesh (handicap -280) by a big difference of 375-258 points and capture the title for the second straight year. He was given a prize money of Rs 35,000 and the winning trophy and Jagdale was give a prize money of Rs 20,000 and the runners-up trophy.

In the earlier semi-final round games, Rovin managed to defeat Amit Sapru (handicap -190) by a narrow score of 375-364 points and Mahesh easily defeated Arun Agrawal (handicap -825) by a easy 375-187 points. Both Sapru and Agrawal both received the prize-money of Rs 10,000 each.
