Rosalin sets track on fire with triple record-breaking golds


Lanky Rosalin Lewis of Agnel Gymkhana performed a remarkable feat by winning 100m, 200m and 400m – all record-breaking effort – on the concluding day of the India Masters Athletics 5-District Track & Field Championships, at the University Stadium here today.

Rosalin’s teammate Diandra Valladres, likewise performed the same feat in the women’s section, adding 200m gold to her earlier golds in the 100m and 400m events. However, Diandra’s 200m gold in 26.60 secs  fell short of the existing record of 26.0 secs. Another Agnel Gymkhana girl Tanishka Shetty clinched the  girls under-18 long jump gold, leaping to 5.11 mts. Thus eclipsing the old mark of 4.89mts.

WOMEN: 200m: Diandra Valladares (Agnel Gym, Vashi) – 26.60 secs.

GIRLS: U-18: 200m:   Rosalin Lewis (Agnel Gym, Vashi) -25.25 secs. (NMR).LONG JUMP: Tanishka Shetty (Agnel Gymkhana) – 5.11 mts (NMR).

MEN:200m: Swapnil Mankar (Sprinter SC)–21.89 secs. JAVELIN THROW: Rakesh Aadke (Mum Pol) – 54.35 secs. (NMR). HIGH JUMP: Nikhil Samobat (Mum Pol) – 1.85 mts (NMR).

BOYS:U-20: 200m: Gurunath Mashilkar (Track&Field Masters, Thane) – 22.22 secs. U-18: 200m: Saumil Maduskar (Achievers SC) – 23.11 secs. HIGH JUMP: Shuham Patekar (Universal SA) – 1.80 mts. SHOT PUT: Azim Khan (Raje SA, Badlepur) – 13.00 mts.
