After defeating Pakistan in Asia Cup league few days ago, the Indian Cricket team led by Rohit Sharma played with their traditional rival for the second time today and recorded an easy 9 wicket win in the Super four league. After winning the toss, Pakistan had decided to bat first but could not set a competitive target, as the only pair which played the Indian bowling attack confidently was that of Shoib and skipper Sarfaraj . Bumrah, Chahal and Kuldeep did well to take the wickets of their rivals. The overall approach of Pakistani batsmen looked defensive and that did not enable them to build a good score. The Indian players displayed their supremacy in all the three departments of cricket, i.e. batting, bowling and fielding.
The target of 238 posed by Pakistan seemed manageable for in form Indian openers, who smashed the Pakistan pace attack as well as spinners to the fence several times. Though Rohit was lucky to be dropped on few occasions. But, it was the day of Shikhar Dhavan who played brilliantly to score his 15th ODI century, before getting run out. He was followed by skipper Rohit Sharma, who also recorded his 19th ODI century. Rohit also crossed 7000 runs in ODI in this match. Ambati Rayadu who joined Rohit after Shikhar’s departure celebrated his country’s win on his birthday today, by scoring the winning run .
