But top seeded Ramash Farooqui, of Nanded, proved herself far ahead of her all her rivals as she demolished each of her rivals in straight games on way to the final. In fact, even in the final, her opponent Greater Mumbai’s Rudra Rane was expected to give her fight, but then Ramash was always a step ahead of her before she triumphed 15-13, 15-14 .

The boys under-15 final, however, was quite an engrossing affair as both tried to outwit the other. It was Rohan’s control and aggressive strokes that ultimately saw him through. Tanishq, who was also top seeded in the boys under-13 singles, defeated Atharva Aras 15-9, 15-6 to justify his top ranking to win the under-13 final. So also, Greater Mumbai’s Rudra Rane, the girls under-13 top seed, who made short work of Pune’s Tara Shah 15-5, 15-10 for the under-13 title.
