Rizvi Ceramics emerged champions winning the Third Division title of the MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) League 2015-2016. In the summit clash, Rizvi got the better of Godrej & Boyce SC by a narrow 1-0 margin, at the St. Xavier’s ground, Parel on Friday.

The title clash witnessed a keen tussle for supremacy as both sides played an open attacking game. But it was Rizvi who managed to find success when striker Sakib Merchant found the target in the 18th minute.
Thereafter, the Rizvi outfit defended resolutely and did well to keep the Godrej attackers at bay and deny them from scoring an equalizing goal before trooping out worthy winners.
Earlier in the Third place match, FC Mumbaikar prevailed over Skorost FC by a 2-1 margin. Noah D’Costa and Vikas Howal, both scored a goal each in the second half to secure the win for Mumbaikar after Sylvester Pereira had scored the opening goal to give Skorost a first half lead.
The champions Rizvi Ceramics were presented with the winners’ trophy and cash proze of Rs 30,000. Godrej & Boyce received the runners-up trophy and a cash award of Rs 20,00, while FC Mumbaikar went home richer by Rs 10,000.

(3rd Place): FC Mumbaikar 2 (Noah D’Costa, Vikas Howal) beat Skorost FC 1 (Sylvester Pereira).
BRA Special AGM on Saturday
A Special AGM of the Bombay Referee’s Association will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 5.00 pm at the Cooperage ground. The Special AGM has been conveyed to update the Constitution of BRA. All members are requested to attend the meeting.
