Last year’s finalists Rizvi Sprinfield squeezed a one-run victory over IES-English (Bandra) in the final of the B. Khichadia-Khar Gymkhana Suburban Inter-School Cricket tournament, play at Khar Gymkhana here today.

With IES (English) bowlers keeping tight length, well backed by sharp fielding, Rizvi batsmen could not show their usual aggression right from the word go. And in the end, they could make 179 before they were all out in the last of the allotted 45 overs.
The IES (English) , who had earlier upset the defending champions Swami Vivekanand in the semifinals, looked all set to repeat their semifinal show. With their top order left and -right pair of Anurag Nair (57) Jash Ganiga (48) going great runs, as they put on 82 runs, they were almost on victory path.l But a run out when they were 170 for four, saw their batsmen panicking as they lost the track in the penultimate over. And with just six runs needed in the last over, they made mess of the target as four batsmen were run out ,thereby letting Rizvi win by a solitary run.
