Republicans score 3rd straight win


Bombay Republicans dished out another steady consistent performance to coast to a convincing 4-2 victory against Maharashtra State Police in a Super Division match of the MHAL League 2017-2018, at the MHAL-Mahindra Stadium, Churchgate on Saturday.

 

The Republicans outfit who have been impressive right from their opening match have now registered their third win in succession.

 

Dominating play from the outset, Republicans went ahead through Bhushan Khanorkar 16th minute goal and two minutes later Aamid Khan doubled the lead before Wasim Sohel added the third in the 21st minute.

 

Trailing 0-3, Maharashtra State Police fought bravely and managed to score two goals Indal Suryavanshi in the 55th minute and Satyajit Sawant 65th minute to keep their hope alive of putting up a fight.

 

But, Republicans forward Nikhil Pardeshi killed the hopes of the policemen by scoring the fourth goal in the very next minute.

 

Republicans defender Munis Qureshi was named ‘Man of the Match’ award and he received a cash award of Rs 1,000.

 

On Sunday, Indian Navy will meet Union Bank of India at 2.30 pm and in the next match Central Railway take on Western Railway at 4.00pm.
