Rayaan Razmi emerged champion defeating Shabaz Khan 5-4 in a tense and exciting Men’s 15-red snooker final of the Malabar Hill Club Maharashtra State Billiards & Snooker Championships 2024, played at the Malabar Hill Club billiards hall on late Friday evening.

In a match of fluctuating fortunes, Shabaz started on a positive note rolling in a break of 58 to win the opening frame, but the lanky Rayaan replied with a 48 to take the second and level the scores. Shabaz produced another substantial effort compiling a 73 break to pocket the third and regain the lead (2-1). Rayaan won the fourth to catch up but could not stop Shabaz from winning a close fifth to stay in the lead.
The determined Rayaan held his nerves and composure to clinch the next two frames to move ahead at 4-3 before Shabaz won a tight eighth to level scores and force the decider. Rayaan cashed in on the chances and constructed a 44 break to complete a 13-76, 61-31, 11-79, 75-34, 49-61, 52-22, 58-34, 42-56, and 62-19 win to seal his triumph.
