Upcoming talent, teenager Rayaan Razmi of Elphinstone CC and former two-time Asian Snooker champion Yasin Merchant of Khar Gymkhana easily won their respective third and final snooker qualifying round matches of the BSAM Maharashtra State Senior Snooker & Billiards Selection (leg-2) Championship 2018, and played at the Bombay Gymkhana billiards room.
The 16-year-old Rayaan potted fluently to outshine Sagar Patne of Thane and cruised to a 3-0 (53-12, 62-29 and 73-47) victory in the best-of-5-frame encounter and to qualify for the main draw round-robin league.
The fancied Yasin also had things much his own was and with a small break of 32 in the first frame when onto tame Yogesh Kute of Vashi winning in straight three frames. Yasin recorded a 3-0 (81(32)-22, 64-58, 67-13) win.
Siddhesh Mulay of Chiplun and Yogesh Sharma of Pune, also booked their places in the main draw.
Mulay prevailed over Sohail Petiwala of Mazagon Club 3-1 (72-45, 60-14, 52-31), while Sharma overcame Walter Vaz of Bombay Gymkhana by a similar 3-1 (49-11, 48-21, 32-59, 66-44) frame scores.
