Rayaan,Rovin progress to main draw


 

Teenager Rayaan Razmi of Elphinstone Cricket Club and Rovin D’Souza of Hindu Gymkhana, both won their final qualifying round matches and made it to the main draw of the Chembur Gymkhana Handicap Billiards Tournament 2018, and played at the Chembur Gymkhana billiards hall.

The 16-year-old Rayaan playing with a stiff handicap of -190 was in complete control and comfortably defeated Samar Khandelwal (-100) 200-89 points in the race to 200 points encounter.

 

Meanwhile, Rovin (-180) managed to beat back the strong challenge from Khar Gymkhana’s Krieshh Gurbaxani (-225) winning by a close 200-177 points difference. Krieshh despite play with a heavy handicap put up a very good fight and compiled three useful breaks of 75, 72 and 44 but fell short by 23 points and bowed out. Rovin had two good efforts of 85 and 35.
