Kanara Bros SC snatched a narrow 1-0 win against Karnataka Amateur SC in a league match of the 23rd Late Shri Ramanath Payyade Memorial Football Tournament 2018-19 and played at Karnatak Sports Centre, Cross Maidan.
In a hard-fought and interesting match, striker Akash S.Rathod netted the decisive winner in the 36t minute to secure Kanara Bros victory and all the three points.
In another match, Star of Canara, who had lost in the Adv Kidrolli Memorial final, avenged that defeat when they banked Karnataka SC 3-0. Energetic striker Melwyn Vaz struck a brace of goals and Sandesh Puthran got one to complete Star of Canara’s win.
