Rajdhani Royals to meet Solitaire Shuttlers in NSCI League final


 

Rajdhani Royal and Solitaire Shuttlers qualified for the finals of the third edition of the NSCI Badminton League as the 6-team round-robin concluded on third day, at the NSCI badminton courts, Worli.

 

The Royals, by virtue of having won their last two round-robin league matches against Solitaire Shuttlers (3-2) and Super Smashers (3-2) finished first in the league with four wins from five games. The Solitaire Shuttlers clinched second place with three wins and two losses. Roaring Racqueteers narrowly missed out from a place in the finals despite having the same points as Solitaire Shuttlers, but bowed out as they lost the head to head against the former.

 

Solitaire Shuttlers recovered from the loss to Royals as they put up a strong combined performance to overcome King Shuttlers in the concluding encounter which helped them to have a shot at the title.

 

Roaring Racqueteers also won their final two games, defeating Super Smashers 3-2 and Maverick Aces 3-1. But they lost out on making the final grade as they had earlier lost  1-3 to Solitaire Shuttlers, who managed to sneak through.
