An electrifying League that captured the imagination of millions across the world is soon going to make a grand return to Chandigarh to enthrall all the tennis fans in Punjab. Punjab Marshalls is all set to welcome the second season of Champions Tennis League which starts from November 23 – December 6.
Punjab Marshalls’ owners Gurpreet Singh Kiki and Kudrat Tamber are happy to be back for CTL 2015 and look forward toanother super season.
“At a time when business owners think of owning a team as a status symbol, very few are actually interested in the development of the sport and the passion that is associated with it,” Kudrat Tamber, who owns Punjab Marshalls team said in the press conference hereon Monday.
“Punjab Marshalls as a team is very close to our heart and instead of seeing it as an investment; we look at it as a responsibility that we owe to our fans. We are happy to be here for CTL’s second edition”, Gurpreet Singh Kiki added.
The Punjab Marshalls team boasts of the two players that stood out in the previous edition with their rocking performances – Indian No 2 Saketh Myneni, who won the Margaret Amritraj Trophy for the Best Indian Player and Marcos Baghdatis, who won the Robert Amritraj Trophy for Most Valuable Player of the League last year. In addition to them, upcoming WTA player Elina Svitolina of Ukraine and legendary British player Greg Rusedski have made the Punjab-based franchise a formidable force to look out for in the second edition of the League. Chandigarh’s CLTA stadium will be the venue of Punjab Marshall’s home matches.

Ace ATP player Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus has also expressed his eagerness to return to India for CTL2015 where he had a great time participating and playing in the League.
“Last year was memorable! I had a great time playing in front of the crowd and the format of the game is such that fans get to see competitive and world class game of Tennis. It’s a pleasure and am looking forward to come back this year too,” said Baghdatis.
Kiki’s passion for the game is evident as Punjab Marshalls have announced free entry to all spectators for the home matches in Chandigarh.
Punjab Marshalls has been grouped with Raipur Rangers and Mumbai Tennis Masters in Group A and a similar format where in the six teams are divided into groups of three, they play each other on Home and Away basis, and the team that wins the maximum number of games tops the group. The top team from each group then competes for the title.
