Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB) players proved their supremacy, as they dominated in the North Zone Seniors’ Table Tennis championship , which concluded in Chandigarh today. It was all PSPB affair in the Men’s and Women’s singles final. While National Champion Antony Amalraj beat Sanil Shetty 5-11, 11-8, 11-8, 13-11, 11-2 to win the Men’s Singles championship , Madhurika Patkar beat Pooja Sahasrabuddhe 12-10, 11-5, 7-11, 11-9, 13-15, 11-8 in a six game battle.

Earlier in the Men’s semi finals, Sanil had beaten Sudhanshu Grover also of PSPB, while Amalraj overcame stiff resistance from G Sathian ( PSPB) in a hard fought seven game battle. In the women’s semi finals Pooja had beaten Manika Batra, while Madhulika beat Shruti Amrute from Maharashtra. Youth Boys’ final was won by Manav Thakkar( PSPB) , who beat Arjun Ghosh( West Bengal) , while Archana Kamat (AAI) beat her team mate Sreeja Akula (AAI) to lift the Youth Girls’ crown.
