Inspired by the brilliance of striker Priti Waghela who displayed excellent shooting skills and clinical finishing to notch up a hat-trick of goals in leading Sporko CFCI to a flunet 4-0 win against Oscar Foundation in a Women Super Division encounter of the Mumbai Football Association (MFA) League 2022-2023 and played at the Neville D’Souza ground, Bandra on Thursday evening.
Sporko CFCI dominated the match against Oscar Foundation girls who lacked experience and were unable to offer much of a fight. Angelina Sequeira scored the fourth goal to seal CFCI’s victory.
In contrast, D’Souza Football Academy worked hard to record a 1-0 win against Young Guns FC ‘B’ in another women’s match. Striker Mariyam Khatum scored the all-important winning goal to secure D’Souza FA’s win and to pocket all the three points.
Earlier in the day, India Rush got the better of Kankre FC by a fighting 2-1 margin to also collect the full points. India Rush striker Sanaya Irani fired home both the goals to seal the win, while Kenkre FC pulled one back through Nishka Prakash’s efforts.
In the fourth match, Glory Kaira FC were in complete control in their match against Somaiya SA and charged to a comfortable 4-1 victory. Glory Kaira was well-served by striker Samrudhi Katkole who scored two goals and Soummy Kagale and Komal N., both contributing with one goal each in the team’s success. Somaiya SA managed to score one goal through Riya Panchal.
