Prajwal Rai shines for MCC (Blue)


 

A fine century by Prajwal Rai helped MCC (Blue) earn first innings lead against  MCC (Red) in the inaugural four-team MCC Two-Day League, played at Dadar Parsee Zorastrian ground at Matunga.  The league is being played with no restriction of overs.However, both the teams have earned three points each as the “Red” have taken 3 points from Bhosale Cricket Academy in their opening tie..

 

Prajwal hit up 109 with 15 fours and a six as MCC (Blue) scored 319. In reply, the “Red” were bowled out for 179. The “Blue” instead of enforcing follow-on decided to bat on, but they declared at 80 for four to set  their opponents  220  runs target. However, the ‘Red” openers could make only    48 runs at the end to concede the first innings points.

 

 Brief scores :  MCC (Blue) 319 all out (Prajwal Rai 109, Altamesh  Khan 77, Pratik Mhatre  n.o.61; Harsh Adsul 3/56, Harshvardhan Patil 2/52, Irfan Khan 2/50) and 80/4  beat MCC (Red) 179 all out ( Dasrath M 84, Vishal  Singh2/53, Kartik Pal 2/22) and 48/0- on the 1st innings.

 

MCC (Red) 297 all out (Aryan Chitroda 130, Tanmay Buram 66, Aneesh Kapil 35; Harshal Jadhav 4/83, Nishant Nisarkar 2/71) bt Bhosale Cricket Academy 197 (Sandeep Mihsra 46, Nishant Nisarkar 38, Ankit Yadav 35; Anuj Giri 5/55, Harshal Adsal 4’82 and 122/4  (Ankit Yadav 51) – on the 1st innings.
