While Pooja virtually blanked her opponent Maitri Shetty in the opening singles, Vidhi Patel put up meeky display against Kirti Gajjar and lost 10-21. However, the Thakur pair of Pooja and Cherish D’Souza hardly faced any worthwhile opposition from Kirti and Sapna Iyer and won 1t 21-16 toclinch the tie..
Deep Rambhia battled single-handedly to take K.J.Somaiya past past Narsee Monjee 2-1 in the boys under-19 section. After both were tied at 1-1, as he won his singles easily and then saw his weak teammate losing the second singles, he told his novice partner to stand near the net as he covered the the whole court to clinch the all-important double tie .
