Payyade Sports Club riding on Sarfraz Khan aggressive knock of 74 runs recorded a flunet eight-wicket victory against Bhatnagar Sports Club in a ‘A’ Division semi-final match of the Mumbai Cricket Association organized MCA President Cup Tournament 2024, played at the P.J. Hindu Gymkhana ground, Marine Drive on Sunday.
Electing to field first, Payyade did well to restrict Bhatnagar SC to a 180 for seven wickets from their 20 overs. Bhatnagar’s leading batters were Rugved More 74 runs and Pranay Kapadia 53 runs while Parag Khanapurkar 2 for 30 and Rohan Raje 2 for 43 picked up the wickets.
Later, Payyade SC easily chased the target reaching 184 for the loss of just two wickets in 15.5 overs. Besides Sarfraz’s innings, the other who contributed towards the win was Prasad Pawar 58 runs, Bhupen Lalwani 24 runs and Musheer Khan 21 runs.
In the second semi-final, Victory CC defeated Young Comrade CC by a huge six wickets.

Young Comrade CC 200 for 7, 20 overs (Deepak Gaikwad 48, Mayuresh Tandel 35, Aditya Rawat 29, Vedant Patil 28, Manan Khakhar 23; Sairaj Patil 2/24) lost Victory CC 203 for 4, 18.2 overs (Jay Bista 69, Shashwat Jagtap 64, Suved Parkar 34*, Suraj Shinde 27*; Mayuresh Tadel 3/18). Result: Victory CC won by six wickets.
