Parsee Gymkhana, MLWB win City TT League titles
Parsee Gymkhana team represented by Sanish Ambekar, Zubin Taraporewala, Mayuresh Kelkar, Rayomand Marolia & Hoshang K had an occasion to celebrate yesterday evening . The team remained unbeaten in the MCDTTA 1st division Inter Club Table Tennis league to bag Gold medal. The MLWB(KKB) team represented by Shubham Ambre, Mandar Hardikar, Gaurav Parte, lost their only match in this league narrowly to Parsee Gymkhana, to take the second place.The matches were played for the past four days at NSCI, Worli.
MLWB(NMJ) boys are all smiles while posing with the Winner’s trophy won by them in MCDTTA 3rd Division TT League.
The Women’s first division League was dominated by MLWB(KKB) with star players like Senhora D’souza, Shweta Parte, Mamata Prabhu & Veterans’ Women’s champion Sunanda Rao in the team. MLWB(KKB) Women’s team in the 2nd division also bagged Gold medal. With this achievement , Guruprasad Parte who runs his own training academy at MLWB(KKB) must have been the happiest person, as all these players practice at his academy. Guruprasad himself was present for all their matches during this 4 day long tournament. His own daughter and son Shweta and Gaurav were also part of MLWB(KKB) teams.
There was a triangular contest among three teams in the 3rd Division Men’s league, comprising of CCI, MLWB(NMJ) & Central YMCA, being the winners of the respective groups in this division. And therefore, they had to play league matches among them. This was won by MLWB( NM Joshi Marg ) team which remained unbeaten.
