Uttar Pradesh cueist Paras Gupta continued with his impressive form to sent Nikhil Ootam (CCI) crashing out as he coasted to 4-1 (58-10, 37-28, 43-32, 27-38 and 45-32) victory in a best-of-7-frame fourth round match of the ECC All India Open 6-Red Snooker Tournament 2018, and played at the Elphinstone Cricket Club billiards room.
NSCI billiards marker, Ajinkya Yelv produced another fine performance to tame Khar Gymkhana’s Santosh Pawar posting a facile 4-0 (32-11, 36-11, 40-1, 48-13) in another round 4 eencounter.
Meanwhile, Laxman Rawat, Abhishek Bajaj and Nitesh Madan, all from Bombay Gymkhana won their respective fourth round matches to also advance to the next round.
Rawat had things much his own way and with a break of 47 in the first frame stormed past Sanjiv Shah (JVPG) by a comfortable 4-1 (55(47)-1, 55-6, 15-27, 44-13 and 35-14) victory.
Bajaj also enjoyed a smooth passage to the next round as he sidelined Asutosh Padhy (JVPG) by a 4-1 (43-37, 33-26, 44-13, 3-31 and 32-23) scoreline.
Madan had quite a fight on hand before he managed to overcome Khar Gymkhana’s youngster Kreishh Gurbaxani 4-3 (9-45, 23-38, 48-9, 0-40(38), 35(35)-0, 35-12, 42-21) to advance to the next round.
