Palak Dhami, from Glenmark Aquatic Foundation continued to dominate in the girls under-12 section by adding two more record-breaking golds to the two she won on the first day of the GAF-GMAAA age group swimming championships, held at Tata Swimming Pool, at Chembur, here today.

Having set new marks in the 50m back stroke and 100m butterfly earlier, Palak set the pool on fire by winning the 100m back stroke in new timing of 1:13.55 secs and later she went one better to clinch another gold – her fourth of the meet – as she left her rival way behind for the 50m butterfly gold in another new record timing of 00:31.13 secs.
Likewise, Otters Club’s Kenisha Gupta made a clean sweep by winning all the five golds at stake in the girls under-14 section – all by re-writing the old marks in 50m butterfly, 200m breast stroke and 100m free style gold today. Earlier, she had won 50m free style and 200m individual medley events.

Incidentally, the boys section was devoid of any such record-breaking feats. Barring GAF’s Sushrut Kapse, who proved to be best in the boys under-17 section by winning four golds – with two of them being record-breaking efforts, and GAF’s Safwan Shaikh,winner in the 50m Butterfly Stroke in the under-14section, none of the boys came close to creating new marks. However, Goregon Sports Club’s Dhanayush Ranings did commendably well by emerging winner in the 200m back stroke, 50m butfterfly stroke,100m back stroke, 50m breast stroke events.
