Om Lotlikar to represent India at Asian Paralympic Championship in China

Playing the game of Table Tennis with only his one hand, his game is a delight to watch. In the recently concluded 1st Division Inter Club Table Tennis League and two local tournaments , Om Lotlikar invited all the attention with his wonderful services, forceful forehand and backhand top spin and well controlled game. Watching his performance, his team captain former international Suhas Kulkarni was all praise for him and wished him grand success in days to come.

Since then, Om has been working hard playing in different clubs like MLWB and PJ Hindu Gymkhana, where he has been offered concessional membership. After graduation, Om is studying Law. But, for the past two years, he was looking forward to play for India in the Paralympics and had even attended training camp last year held for shortlisted sportspersons. Today, Om’s dream has come true. He has been selected to play for India in the forthcoming Asian Paralympic Championship scheduled  in China  between 23rd August to 31st August 2017.

Magzmumbai spoke to Om before he left Mumbai for the short preparatory camp to be held in Indore, before this big event. And, from there he will directly proceed to China. Magzmumbai wished him grand success on behalf of all the TT players and his well wishers in India. But, we only hope that someone comes forward with a good job assignment and sponsorship for this young hard working TT Player from Mumbai. He also needs a  good qualified coach, who can train him for such international events.
