NSCI team put up a strong performance to defeat CCI-B who were unbeaten on their way to the semis and set up a title clash with Otters Club at the ISP Inter Club Juniors Squash League 2018, organised by the Indian Squash Professionals, sponsored by Syska and Wadhwa group and played at the Otters Club Squash Courts on Monday.
In the first semi-final, Suren Gupta provided an Ideal start to NSCI by winning his first match against Aryan Diwan 11-3, 11-5 while his teammates Vivaan Bhatia and Diva Shah built on the momentum of his first win and went on the win both their matches setting up a title clash with hosts Otters Club.
In another match, Varun Shah helped Otters Club to a flying start as he ran through Nupur Joshi of Jindal Squash Academy beating her by an 11-2, 11-1 margin. In the second rubber, Adesh K of Otters Club faced some resistance from Neil Paswan who claimed the first match without breaking a sweat but Adesh was quick to shrug off the loss and got his head into the game eventually winning the match with a score line of 6-11, 13-11, 11-7. In the third rubber, Agastya Bansal was up against Pratap Gupta in what turned out to be a completely lopsided affair as Agastya obliterated Pratap to win the match 11-0, 11-1 and power his team through the finals.
