Now, Mallakhamb in Kazakhstan


After the 1st Mallakhamb World Championships in Mumbai in February 2019, the fast growth of Mallakhamb in many Countries like Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Germany, U. K., U. S. A. etc. which had slowed down due to the global Corona pandemic in last two-three years, is now again on the fast track. Nigeria from Africa Continent and Uruguay from South America continent have also shown interest in Mallakhamb. New addition to this is Kazakhstan, which was formerly a part of U. S. S. R. From 1st to 6th April 2022, there will be Mallakhamb Workshops in two places in Kazakhstan, in Almaty and in Nur Sultan (Astana).

Rajat

Shree Sandeep Vasant Jadhav, trained in Yoga, since 1999, under the expert guidance of ‘Rishi Dharmajyoti’ Dr. Vishwas Mandalik and who has worked in many projects of Purushottam Academy, with Sports Psychologist late Dr. Bhishmaraj Bam, now is active in the field of Yoga for last 21 years. He runs Yoga Classes in Almaty, Kazakhstan, since 2006 and has trained more than 100 Certified Yoga Trainers. In 2017, he has formed Pradnya Institute of Yoga, in Almaty, Kazakhstan. He got initiated by well-known Yoga Guru Sadguru in the year 2021 with Isha foundation. His interest is to promote Indian Culture in Kazakhstan. He found out that there are lots of similarities between Indian and Kazakh nomad culture (Tengrism). Even there was strong cultural bonding since Vedic times. His interest is to revive those connections and that’s why he started a project called “Meru”. He has been doing various rituals under the roof of Pradnya Institute of Yoga and celebrating Indian festivals with their scientific significance to open up Indian traditions to people from Kazakhstan.

Tamanna

Last couple of months he was working on a special project of teaching Sanskrit language for the first time in Kazakhstan with the support of embassy of India and his friend from India Prashant Gite who is master of Sanskrit. Surprisingly there were 205 participants for the first ever Sanskrit course in Kazakhstan. He designed Sanskrit Prathama course for local people do that they can grasp easily. Even though the course was declared for Kazakh citizens, still he got participants from other countries as well, such as Tunisia, Greek and Finland along with Kazakhstan. 

Uday

Mallakhamb Workshop is a similar venture by Sandeep Jadhav to be organised at Almaty and Nur Sultan (Astana), the former Capital of Kazakhstan, from 1st to 6th April 2022. More than 200 youth and children have already enrolled for this first ever Mallakhamb Workshop in Kazakhstan. The Consulates from the Indian Embassy in Kazakhstan and the newly appointed Director of Swami Vivekanand Cultural Centre, Shree Sanjay Vedi has supported a lot in the organisation of this Mallakhamb Workshop. The Founder Director and General Secretary of Vishwa Mallakhamb Federation and the Chief Coach of Shree Samarth Vyayam Mandir, Shree Uday V. Deshpande, is taking two of his National Champion Students – Rajat Kavade and Tamanna Sanghvi along with him to train the Kazakh Mallakhamb students. The Kazakh Mallakhamb team taking part in the ensuing 2nd Mallakhamb World Championships, to be held in Bhutan later this year will be selected from this Mallakhamb Workshop.
