Nitin Paranjape 56 has been named the new C.O.O. of Unilever. Only last year he had become the head of Unilever’s Food and Rrefreshments business. Over the years, Mr. Paranjape has gained a lot of experience of company’s markets. With this new appointment Mr. Nitin Paranjape will be the second Indian origin COO, since this post was created.
After passing his HSC from Mumbai’s Jai Hind College, Mr. Nitin Paranjpe obtained a degree in BE (Mechanical Engineering) from College of Engineering, Pune followed by MBA in Marketing from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai. He joined HUL in 1987 and later went on to hold various important positions in the company. In 2004 he became V.P. of Home care followed by E.D. of Home & Personal care in 2006. Later, he occupied two important positions as CEO of HUL & EVP of South Asia Group. This was followed by his appointment in 2013 as President of Unilever’s Home care category and member of Unilever Leadership Executive.
Not many are aware of Mr. Nitin Paranjape’s sports background. He has actively played the game of table tennis at the state and national level during his teenage and displayed excellent performance, winning many trophies in individual as well as team events.
