Neha Dubey, Aradhana Jadhav strike in India Rush close win


 

Neha Dubey and Aradhana Jadhav played the key roles scoring a goal each, which helped India Rush get the better of Sunday Sultans ‘A’ by a close 2-1 margin in a women’s Pool-A league match of the 41st Willingdon Catholic Gymkhana rink hockey tournament, played at the WCG floodlit courts. Nadiya S. netted the lone goal for the losing side.

 

In a veteran men’s encounter, Sea View SC blanked Kalina Village Boys ‘B’ 4-0. Consistent goal-scorers Gavin Vandrine and Shelton Carvalho struck two goals each to seal Sea View’s victory.

 

In other women’s matches, Western Railway and UK United recorded identical 4-2 wins in their respective Pool-A and Pool-B league encounters.

 

Anupa Barla and Rakhi Prajapati scored a brace of goals as Western Railway defeated Sunday Sultans ‘B’ with Chaitrali Gawade scoring both the goals for the losers.

 

UK United was well-served by Jemimah Rodrigues who slammed home three goals and Vasudha got one in the win against Sea View SC. Shraddha Jadhav and Resham Mahadik scored a goal each for Sea View.
