St. Francis D’Assisi’s ever-smiling Neel Soni was in his element as he scored twice in the first half to steer his team past St. Xavier’s (Borivali) in the boys U-17 quarter-finals of the DSO Mumbai Suburban District level Inter-School Football Tournament, organized by Vision Sports Reconnect and Fairplay Sports Management at at St Francis D’Assisi Ground, Borivali today.

Leading 2-0 at the half time, St. Francis boys appeared to relax a bit while their opponents tried to put everything in their bid to find opening, but could not get past the St. Francis’s defence..
In the girls section in the DSO Mumbai Suburban taluka level under-17 event, a brace by Kimberly Nazareth featured in Canossa’s 4-0 win over St. Joseph’s (Kandivali), and Ryan International (CBSC) routed IES Secondary (Mulund). While in the boys under-14, Bandra’s St. Stanislaus were held goalless by Mulund’s St.Pius before they won 3-1 via tie-breaker in ther boys under-14.
