NBA (Nagpada Basketball Association) having already won the youth boys final, and made the junior boys as well as men’s finals, are in line for a triple crown in the Mastan YMCA Basketball tournament, hosted by Bombay YMCA’s Physical Education Department at their floodlit courts at Agripada today.

The youth boys final between the NBA ancd Savio Club turned out to be edge-of-the-chair affair. Initially, it was all Savio Club show as they took the lead 36-31 after the first two quarters. Even though they fared badly in the third, with their players were off the target on numerous occasions they let NBA to fight back. This resulted in the lead changing hands with NBA forging ahead 47-43 after completion of the third quarter.
However, the tension-packed decider had the goodly crowd roaring all the way as Savio Club hit back and led 67-66. It looked like anybody’s game with NBA getting two free throws, which they converted to lead 68-67. With four seconds to go, the tie was interrupted as some in the crowd angered by the referee’s whistling for a foul, invaded the court, which perhaps affected the Savio Club players as they just mis-shoot the basket before the final whistle.
