After a hiatus of two years basketball action returns to the city as the Nagpada Basketball Association is set to conduct the NBA 18th Invitational Basketball Tournament, which will commence from February 21 at the floodlit Late Bachoo Khan basketball courts, Nagpada from Monday evening.
Due to the lockdown imposed by the authorities on account of the Covid-19 pandemic there were no sporting activities throughout the state of Maharashtra and in the city.
This season there will be competition in five categories, Mini Boys U-13 (12 teams), Junior Boys U-18 (12 teams), Junior Girls U-18 (6 teams), Women (4 teams) and Men (8 teams). Two Pune teams, Deccan Gymkhana and S. Arena will be the star attractions.
The Girls’ U-18 and Women’s and the Men’s matches will be played on a League basis initially.
Handsome trophies and cash awards will be presented to the winners and runners-up teams.
