MHAL report:
A well-drilled Indian Navy cruised to another convincing victory defeating Income Tax 6-3 in the concluding Super Division match of the MHAL League 2019-2020, played at the MHAL Stadium, Churchgate, on Sunday.
The defending champions Navy demonstrated their superiority from the start and scored through Jugraj Singh’s hat-trick of goals and one each from Amit Goswami, Pratik Singh and Ajinkya Jadhav to complete the win. Income Tax who put up fighting display managed to reduce the deficit with goals from Vikram Singh, Ranjit Kullu and Arjun Sahani.
The unbeaten Navy outfit completed the league on a high with 19 points and took pole position. Mumbai Customs finished with 14 points (4 wins & 2 draw) and snatched the second position. Both Navy and Customs will play in the title deciding match on Tuesday, October 1, 2019.
Earlier, Union Bank of India got the better of Central Railway 3-2 to record their third win and finish with a tally of 12 points to grab the third position in the eight-team league. Former champions Central Railway who suffered their third defeat completed the fixtures with eight points from two wins and two draw and slipped to the fifth place. Bombay Republicans with nine points (2 wins & 3 draws) clinched the fourth spot.
Union Bank scored through Thonglen Th, Navin Kheretkar and Mantosh Laishrm before Central Railway struck two goals through Rajendra Pawar and Vikas Chowdhary.
