Nagpur and Mumbai registered easy wins to advance to the third round of the Maharashtra State Inter-District Sub-junior boys football championship, organised by the Palghar Dhanau Taluka Sports Association on Thursday.
Nagpur powered by hat-tricks from strikers Dev Amesar and Anurag Solanke went on to blank Gondia 9-0. Furqen Raza (2 goals) and Tushar Baniya one completed the scores for Nagpur.
In another match, Mumbai riding on Aryan Gandarava’s twin strikes trounced Aurangabad 7-0. Roy Chowdhary, Floyd D’Souza, Joel Bannes, Amey Kadam and Nathan Murzello were the other players who contributed with a goal each to complete Mumbai’s win.
