Aggressive NBA (Nagpada Basketball Association) boys were in fine fettle as they outsmarted Khalsa 77-59 to move into the boys uinder-18 quarterfinals of the Mastan YMCA Basketball tournament, hosted by Bombay YMCA’s Physical Education Department at their floodlit courts at Agripada today.
Action during the NBA-Khalsa tie in the boys under-18 section quarterfinals of the Mastan YMCA Basketball tournament.
However, Khalsa outfit, who were rather off target in the initial stages and missed opportunities galore, did fight back in the last quarter, but their efforts went in vain as NBA defended their citadel well to emerge victors. The highlight of their triumph was the shooting of Fauzan Shaikh (22) and Shaikh Raja (16), who time and again scored with three pointers as well.
Don Bosco were given tough time by Ghatkopar YMCA in the men’s pre-quarterfinals . However, after first two quarters, Don Bosco asserted themselves and won 62-40.
In the mini boys section, Indian Gymkhana continued to march with yet another comfortable 22-8 win over Chembur YMCA and GKP (Ghatkopar Krida Praisthan) routed Christ Chuch 22-4 tosail intothe last eight stage.
