Playing plenty of grit and determination Football Club of Mumbaikars charged to a facile 4-0 win against Indian Football Academy in a Zonal Round (Maharashtra leg) match of the AIFF Under-15 Youth League 2017-18 and played under lights at the Cooperage ground, late on Friday evening.
Mumbaikars enjoyed complete domination against the Academy side, but managed just one strike in the first period through Josiah Noronha’s snap effort in the 21st minute.
However, after switching ends, Mumbaikar’s showed greater intent and created clear goals chances and did well to convert from three of those opportunities to troop out worthy winners. Lance Fernandes scored the second in the 53rd minute to double the lead before consistent scorer Joel Barnes struck the third five minute later. Moeen Shaikh increased the margin of victory with a late fourth goal in the fourth minute of additional period.
Mumbaikars in the next round will play in an away match against Reliance Foundation Youth Champs at the Reliance ground, Airoli on Thursday, November 16.
