Mumbai Girl Amruta Phadke makes Bahrain proud with her sterling performance


18 year old Amruta Phadke a First year B.A. student of Ruparel College did her primary and secondary school education in Bahrain, as her father was posted there for his job assignment. While studying there Amruta focused her attention on the game of Table Tennis and performed very well at the local tournaments and also in Inter Club competitions representing A’Ali Club.

Having received citizenship of Bahrain, Amruta represents Bahrain at the international level TT tournaments, with Bahrain Olympic Association sponsoring her. She has represented Bahrain at various prestigious tournaments like ITTF Egypt Open, Arab Championship, West Asia Championship and Arab Clubs Championship and won medals.

Recently, while representing Bahrain for the 15th Arab Games, Amruta won Gold in Team event and Silver in Doubles event, with her partner, Maryam Alaali. This was followed by Team Gold once again in Arab Championship when her team defeated Egypt, the defending champions for the past 7 years, in finals. She also bagged a silver medal in Singles. After this notable performance in Arab Games and Arab Championship, Amruta along with her partner were invited by the Royal family of Bahrain to be felicitated.

 Amruta has a bright future in Table Tennis, having played at the international level at the same time she is focused on her studies too. She has already proved her ability by scoring 96% in 10th and 94% in 12th. She intends to pursue specialization in ‘Sports Psychology’ after her graduation.”

Being a sportsperson herself and playing at the international level, she has chosen the right field for her higher education, which has better scope in days to come.
