For the past one year due to the Covid situation Kho Kho matches could not be played on the field. However, after the Kho-Kho Federation of India recently declared the National Kho-Kho Championship in Osmanabad and the Maharashtra State Kho Kho Association declared the State Kho-Kho Championship in Palghar, the Mumbai Kho-Kho Association has organized a district level selection kho-kho competition for men and women. The competition will be held from 19th to 21st February at Lal Maidan, Aai Mai Merwanji Road, Paral.
As almost all the strong teams from Mumbai will participate in this competition, matches have been organized in the morning-evening session on the 19th. However, matches will be played in the evening session on 20th and 21st.
Among women, Shivneri, Amar Hind, Shree Samarth and Saraswati Kanya school will be in contention for the title. Among men, Saraswati Sport Club, Om Samarth Bharat Vyayam Mandir, Shri Samarth Vyayam Mandir and Amar Hind Mandal will have a special run for the title.
Surendra Vishwakarma, the secretory of Mumbai Kho-Kho Sanghatana, has informed that the district level selection kho-kho competition will be played as per the Covid rules given by the government and the municipal corporation.
