Mukesh Gupta hammers unbeaten 79


Opener Mukesh Gupta was sat his aggressive best, with a hard-hitting 79 to steer holders MCC (Red) to eight wickets win over MCC (Blue)  in their return tie of the B4S (Brain-4-Sports)- MCC Pro-40   double leg League, played at Oval Maidan here today.

 

Opting to bat first, MCC (Blue), but for Shreyansh Bogar’s 45, failed to  take off and were dismissed for 133 with Sujit Kanojia (4/25), Irfan Ansari (3/29) and Vedant Patiil (2/37) sharing the spoils. In reply, the defending champions hardly had to exert much as they raced to 134 for two  with plenty of overs to spare.

 

Debutants Rizvi Sports Club continued to display tremendous form,as they humbled hosts Jwala Sports Foundation by 135 runs. With their batsmen showing excellent form  , they  hit up 204 with Al-Saad top-scoring with strokeful 61. In reply,  they just fell to the guiles of Pratik Kadam (5/30) before they were dismissed for 79.

 

Brief scores: MCC (Blue) 133 all out (Shreyansh Bogar 45, Priyan Mhatre 23; Sujit Kanojia 4/25, Irfan Ansari 3/29, Vedant Patil 2/37) lost to MCC (Red) 134/2 (Mukesh Gupta 79 (12×4, 1×6) by 8 wkts.

 

Rizvi SC 204 (Al-Saad Ansri 61, Shreyas Mandlik 47; Vishal Singh 3/42, Sumit Gade 3/38, Nihar Rane 2/27) bt Jwala Sports Foundation  79 all out (Pratik Kadam 5/30) by 135 runs.
