The MORRAC Association, Mumbai, will be conducting the 1st Ranking Morrac Tournament, at the N.M. Joshi High School premises, N.M. Joshi Marg from May 25 to May 27, 2018.
Events will be conducted in four categories – Men’s & Women’s singles and Junior Boy’s & Girl’s Under-18 singles. The winners and runners-up will be presented with handsome trophies and prize-money in all four categories. The losing semi-finalists and quarter-finalists will also receive cash awards.
“Morrac is a different version of the regular carom game. Morrac is played on the normal brown Morrac board, similar to the carrom board and with the same type of coins. But, to make it interesting and to induce variety to the sport, the rules are changed and the scoring and playing format are completely different from the normal carom game,” said Mahendra Tambe, Hon. Gen. Secretary, Morrac Association and former India carom player.
“All carrom players are aware of this version and have already participated in many morrac tournaments conducted by various organisations and association. This is our maiden ranking tournament and I am confident that we will get a good number of participation, even from all the top-level carrom players from around Mumbai,” Tambe said confidently.
Entries will be accepted on May 12 and 13 between 6.00pm and 9.00 pm at MLWB Office, Delisle Road, N.M. Joshi Marg, Mumbai.
