Mohnish Poojary from Gupta Sports Academy pipped his teammates Chinmay Medd and Deepak Karde in a terrific burst to win the men’s record-breaking 100m sprint in the the Mumbai Suburban District Athletics championships , sponsored by Striders Foundation and held at Sports Authority of India at their centre at Kandivali (East) here today.In fact all three re-wrote the old record of 11.3 secs. Mohnish clocked 10.9 secs while the other two were close on his heels.

Incidentally, it was quite a memorable day for the Gupta Academy boys as their other outstanding performers were Rahul Kadam (400m – record and 800m) and Shriniwas Poojary (200 and400m ) in boys under-20 events.
