ONGC (Oil & Natural Gas Corporation) were well served by striker Nitesh Monde who hit the target twice in the team’s 3-1 win over Western Railway in an Elite Division match of the MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) League 2015-2016, and played at the Cooperage football ground, on Wednesday evening.
Monde’s teammate Dharmesh Patil with a 25th minute strike gave ONGC the lead. Later Monde added the second in the 78th minute and the third in the 90th minute to seal the win and the three points for the oilmen. In between those two goal Western’s hard-working medio Ravikant Naidu got the lone goal.
There will be no Elite Division match on Thursday. The next match will be played between Mumbai Customs and Central Bank of India on Friday, October 2 at 3.00 pm.
