Jagannath Mohite proved to be a dark horse in the ongoing National Veterans’ Table Tennis Championship at Balewadi Pune. Making a comeback after five years, Mohite knocked out his Maharashtra player and 2nd Seed in this tournament Arun Dhotre in three straight games.

Mohite who played in Men 60+ section also moved into quarter finals of Men’s doubles with the help of his double partner Avinash Joshi from Pune and defeated Bapu Katdhare and Hoshi Katrak in the quarter finals of Mens’s 60+ Doubles. Earlier Katdhare and Katrak had surprised second seed pair of Purohit and Waghela from Gujarat. However, the pair later lost to Jayant Kulkarni and Percy Mehta also from Maharashtra in the semi finals, ensuring their Bronze medal.
