MIG Cricket Club clinch Police Shield cricket title


MIG Cricket Club emerge champions winning the the Eagle Thane Strikers sponsored 72nd Police Invitation Shield Cricket Tournament 2019.

 

The final played between MIG Cricket Club and defending champions Parkophene Criicketers finished in a draw at the end of the third day of their 3-day final at the Police Gymkhana ground, Marine Drive on Monday. MIG Cricketer were declared winners on the basis of their slender 17-runs first innings.

Batting first Parkophene Cricketers scored 358 for 8 wickets in the stipulated 90 overs of the first innings. MIG Cricket Club rode on Gaurav Jathar’s unbeaten century knock of 153 to amass a total of 375 for 6 wickets, in 90 overs and grab a 17-run first innings lead.

 

Parkophene in the second innings scored 173 for 8 wickets before declaring their innings and setting MIG CC a target of 156 in 40 overs in their second essay. MIG managed to score only 141 runs for the loss 7 wickets in 31 overs when play was called off for the day.
