Leading carrom players from across the country will be seen in action vying for top honours in the 49th LIC of India-Senior National Carrom Championship 2021-2022 organised by the All India Carrom Federation (AICF) and hosted by the Maharashtra Carrom Association (MCA) will be played at the Shree Halari Visa Oswal Samaj Hall, Dadar (East) starting from March 30 to April 3, 2022. ONGC, Indian Oil, Union Bank of India and Hindustan Petroleum are the co-sponsors of this 5-day championship.
MCA is proud as AICF has allotted the Maharashtra body the rights to host the Senior National Championship for the third successive time. Earlier, MCA had hosted the Nationals at Kudal, Sindhudurg in 2019 and in the following year (2020) in Jalgaon. Due to surge in Covid-19 cases and lockdown restriction in the country the Nationals was not held in 2021.
All the talented players, including World Champions Prashant More, Yogesh Pardeshi, R.M. Shankara, S. Appoorwa, Rashmi Kumari, and I. Ilavazaki, from 25 states and 12 institutions, have confirmed their participation in the championship.
The championship will consist of six events – Men’s singles, Women’s singles, Men’s team championship (states), Women’s team championship (states), Men’s team championship (institutions), and Women’s team championship (institutions).
With a large of spectators showing interest to watch the matches, the organizers MCA will ‘live’ stream matches on YouTube channel and will also install two big screens at the venue.
