MCA Colts completely dominated against Islam Gymkhana and stormed to a comprehensive 214-run victory in a second round Group-C league match of the 71st Police Invitation Shield Cricket Tournament 2018, sponsored Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd and played at the Islam Gymkhana ground, Marine Drive on Sunday.

Bolstered by Rudra Dhandey’s soild double century knock MCA Colts scored 416 runs in their 70-over innings. Dhandey, who resumed at his overnight unbeaten 201 added just three runs to score. Pranav Kela (65) and Chinmay Sutar (58) made useful contributions for the youngsters as they crossed the 400-run mark.
Islam Gymkhana found the target too stiff to chase and were bowled out for 202 in 62.1 overs. Musheer Khan (73) and Rohan Bhosale (50) were the only bastmen who were amongst the runs. For MCA Colts the wickets were shared by Aditya Dhumal (3/42), Vighnesh Solanki (3/45) and Tanush Kotian (3/51) as they romped to victory.
In another group-C match, hosts Mumbai Police Gymkhana easily defeated Cricket Club of India eight wickets. Cricket Club of India were dismissed for 156 in 42,4 overs and the policemen quite comfortably scored 159 for loss of just two wickets. Mumbai Police captain and opener Sunil Patil was unbeaten on 81 runs and ensured his team reached the target with plenty to spare. Rohit Pol contributed 61 runs.
