Mayuresh denies Suraj his 4th Title

The 3rd Edition of the Fr Agnel Mix Corporate Table Tennis Tournament 2019 promoted by Mindscript  received good response  at the Father Agnel Sports Center in Vashi on the 19th & 20thJanuary 2019.

Over 50  participants  from 12 corporate teams participated in  the multiple categories like Men’s Mix Team Event ,Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, and Veterans(35+). League come knock out matches were conducted for Men’s Mix Team Event and Veterans (35+) categories.  The 12 Mix-Corporate teams were divided into 4 groups. The league matches were fought neck to neck and after some intense matches, 2 teams qualified from each group for  the Knock out matches .

The Team final  turned out to be  an intense affair and the dark horses Fr Agnel Mavericks pulled off wins(3-1) against the two times defending Team Champions and Top seeded  Elixirr.

Top seed Mayuresh Kelkar from Indian Express fought back from 0-2  down against 2nd seed Suraj Chandrasekhar HDFC Life to win (3-2) the Men’s Singles Title for the third consecutive year.

However, The star of the tournament was Suraj Chandrasekhar. He proved  himself as an  instrumental player in winning the Team Events & also won the Veterans (35+) , Men’s Doubles and was  runner up in the Men’s Singles.

The purpose behind starting the Mix-corporate tournament was to provide corporate employees a fun filled , healthy and happy platform to live their passion for sports. The tournament was a major success again reconfirming its popularity among corporates.
