Producing a combined all-round performance Matunga Gymkhana recorded a convincing 7-wicket victory against Ghatkopar Jolly Gymkhana in ‘C & D’ Division final of the MCA President Cup Cricket Tournament 2023-2024, organised by Mumbai Cricket Association and played at the Wankhede Stadium, Churchgate on Sunday afternoon.

Deciding to field first, Matunga Gymkhana managed to restrict Ghatkopar Jolly Gymkhana to a low total of 148 for 5 wicket from their quota of 20 overs. Left-handed Sahil Jadhav was the only batter to score 42 runs. Matunga Gymkhana’s off-spinner Kunal Gawand claimed 3 wickets for 34 runs.
In reply, Matunga Gymkhana easily chased down the winning target reaching a total of 149 runs for the loss of just three wickets in 19.3 overs. Leading the charge was Raj Gohil who cracked 45 runs, while left-handed Bipin Waghela 36 runs and Ihsaan Amin 31 runs also made good contributions to help Matunga Gymkhana clinch the top honours.
