Manushree,Chinmaya,Jash,Sampada,Akshat & Hardee clinch CCI TT crowns


Top seed Manushree Patil and second seed Chinmaya Somaiya, both of Mumbai Suburban District clinched the junior girls’ and boys’ singles crowns respectively in the CCI Juniors Prize-Money Table Tennis Tournament 2019, conducted by the Cricket Club of India under the aegis of the Mumbai City District Table Tennis Association and played at the CCI Table Tennis Room.

In the girls’ Summit clash, Manushree with her superior play was in complete control against second seed Hiya Doshi of Mumbai City District and strolled to a convincing 11-4, 11-7, 11-6 victory.

 

In the boys’ final, Chinmaya encountered initial resistance from third seed Ashwin Subramanian and lost the first game. But, he quickly bounced back to win the subsequent three to successfully snatch a 9-11, 11-7, 11-6, 11-6 and emerge champion.

The sub-junior girls’ finals, contested between Mumbai Suburban paddlers, saw top seed Sampada Bhiwandkar prevail over third seed Ananya Chande in straight games, winning at 11-3, 13-11, 11-5. The sub-junior boys’ summit clash was also an all-Mumbai Suburban affair with top seed Jash Modi defeating second Havish Asrani in three well-contested games at 11-7, 14-12 and 12-10.

 

The cadet girls’ and boys’ finals was also fought between Mumbai Suburban youngsters. Second seed Hardee Patel scored a shock win over top seed Sana D’Souza pulling off a 9 11, 11 8, 11 8, 11 4 victory in the girls’ final and in the boys’ final, top seed Akshat Jain got the better of Dev Hingorany 11 6, 11 5, 8 11, 13 11.

Cadet girls (semi-finals): Sana D’Souza beat Keisha Jhaveri 11 4, 9 11, 10 12, 11 5, 11 7; Hardee Patel beat Shravani Loke 11 8, 11 8, 11 5.

Final: Hardee Patel beat Sana D’Souza 9 11, 11 8, 11 8, 11 4.

 

Cadet boys (semi-finals): Dev Hingorany beat Siddharth Shah 13 11, 10 12, 11 6, 11 8; Akshat Jain beat Vedant Agrawal 11 9, 11 6, 9 11, 11 5.

Final: Akshat Jain beat Dev Hingorany 11 6, 11 5, 8 11, 13 11.

 

Sub-junior girls (semi-finals): Sampada Bhiwandkar beat Nimisha Warang 12 10, 5 11, 11 8, 11 8; Ananya Chande beat Pearl Amalsadiwala 11 9, 7 11, 11 7, 11 8.

Final: Sampada Bhiwandkar  beat Ananya Chande 11-3, 13-11, 11-5.

 

Sub-junior boys (semi-finals): Jash Modi  beat Armaan Dalamal 11 8, 11 3, 11 3; Havish Asrani beat Om Chopade 11 5, 12 10, 11 8.

Final: Jash Modi beat Havish Asrani 11-7, 14-12, 12-10.

 

Junior girls (semi-finals): Manushree Patil beat Risha Mirchandani 11 5, 11 4, 11 5; Hiya Doshi beat Krisha Sanghvi 11 7, 11 7, 11 8.

Final: Manushree Patil beat Hiya Doshi 11-4, 11-7, 11-6.

 

Junior boys (semi-finals): Ashwin Subramanian beat Raegan Albuquerque 7 11, 8 11, 11 9, 11 8, 11 6; Chinmaya Somaiya beat Ritvik Nagle 11 6, 11 6, 11 6.

Final: Chinmaya Somaiya beat Ashwin Subramanian 9-11, 11-7, 11-6, 11-6.
