Mangalore Blues down Karnatak Amateurs


Mangalore Blues Sports Club started off on winning note beating Karnataka Amateur Sports Club 2-1 in the inaugural league match of 22nd Late Shri Ramanath Payyade Memorial Football Tournament 2017-18, organised by the Karnatak Sporting Association and played at the KSA ground, Cross Maidan.

In a evenly contested match, Mangalore Blues striker Rishik Shetty scored first goal and later Lekhraj Kotian doubled the lead by netting the second goal to seal the win. Nitin Shettigar scored the consolation goal for the loser.

In the second match Union Sports Club scored a comfortable 5-0 victory over Saraswati Sports Club. Aditya Swami and Akshay Devadiga scored a brace of goals each, while Qwain D’Souza got the other goal to complete the tally.

Results: Mangalore Blues SC 2 (Rishik Shetty, Lekhraj Kotian) beat Karnatak Amateurs SC 1 (Nitin Shettigar).
