22nd Late Ramanath Payyade Memorial Football

 

Mangalore Blues SC and Karnatak Amateurs SC, both scored identical 1-0 wins against Union Sports Club and Saraswati Sports Club respectively in the second round league matches of the 22nd Late Shri Ramanath Payyade Memorial Football Tournament 2017-18, organised by the Karnatak Sporting Association and played at the KSA ground, Cross Maidan.

 

Playing against a depleted Union SC outfit, Mangalore Blues scored the lone winning goal through Pratik Shetty to collect the full three points.

In the other match, Karnatak Amateurs dominated play but found Saraswati goalkeeper Gilbert D’Souza hard to beat. D’Souza after making a series of fine saves was finally beaten in the 43rd minute when Manish Poojary scored the solitary goal to secure Karnatak Amateur’s first win in the competition.

 

In the third game, Satya Vijaya SC prevailed over Bombay Fort SC by a narrow 1-0 margin with striker Revel Kunder scoring in the 24th minute to snatch the win.

 

Results: Karnatak Amateurs SC 1 (Manish Poojary) beat Saraswati SC 0.

 

Mangalore Blues SC 1 (Pratik Shetty) beat Union SC 0.
