Maharashtra’s juniors – both boys and girls, led by Arya Bhivapathaki and Mrunmayee Soji , gave their side a flying start as they notched up a effortless 3-0 win over Goa in the semifinals of the junior mix team event of the West Zone inter-state badminton championships, organized by BOR (Badminton Organisation of Raigadh) and hosted by DY Patil Sports Academy at their Stadium’s badminton hall, at Nerul , here today.
Arya quelled the challenge of Tejan Fallari with a n easy21-9, 21-9 win ,while Mrunmayee faced some anxious moments initially before she defeated Pranjal Chimulkar21-1t5, 21-15.Their doubles combination of Deep Rambhia and Pranajeet Shirodkar were pretty aggressive as they outplayed Dhruv Angle and Tejan Fallari 2-14, 21-8 to wrap up the tie.
They take on M.P. , who likewise proved their mettle as they beat Chhatisgargh 3-1. With losers lone win came through Siddharth Pratap Singh gave MP a jolt as he took the opening single, beating Shubham Prajapati 21-17, 12-12, 21-16. But their top India ranked junior girl Shriyanshi Pardeshi neutralizing as she routed Gargi Joshi 21-8, 21-10.
In fact, MP also put out Chhatisgargh 3-0 in the seniors section as well.
