Maharashtra Girls win Sub Jr. National Aquatic Champoionship; Fine show by Deshwal Twins


Maharashtra Girls won the  38TH Sub Junior National Aquatic Championships 2022 which concluded at Rajkot yesterday, dominating the meet by winning 10 Gold medals out of total 14.

This has been the most successful meet for the Maharashtra State in the Sub Junior Nationals in recent past.

Highlight of this championship was the Noteworthy amazing performances by Deshwal twins, contributing 5 Gold medals out of 10 medals for the state with their individual (3 Golds) and relay (2 Golds) performances; in addition to winning 3 silvers and 2 bronze medals.

Anvi Deshwal emerged as fastest swimmer with Gold medal in 50 meter free, clocking 30.88 sec; Two Silver medals in 100 mtrs Free and 50 mtrs Back and a bronze in 100 mtrs Back.

Saanvi Deshwal proved herself to be the Best all round swimmer with Gold in 200 meter Individual Medley (with timing of 2:47.54 & lead of more than 3.5 sec from silver medallist – Sherlyn Sunil of Karnataka); Gold medal in 50 meter breast, Silver medal in 100 M breast, bronze medal in 50 Back.

Maharashtra won both 4*50m Freestyle relay with Anvi doing the opening leg and Saanvi finishing the race in style with Gold and Medley relay also opened by Saanvi who gave good lead and finished by Amita Kudva, grabbing another Gold for the state.
